László feLugossy (1947, Kecskemét) had a show last time in 2005 at the Várfok Gallery, now we are going to present his latest works.

The typical surrealistic way of painting, which we know abou feLugossy since the 1980s, is valid to the newest works of Ecstasy too, but to a smaller degree. In the 14 piece series we see more or less the same composition, only the complementary parts change. Laca’s technique this time was already used by him before: he bends a plastic net to the wooden frame and glues cut out paperboard on it. On the boards the Madonna is represented, though Jesus is only symbolically there in form of an egg, or white dots. The pictures are complemented with geometrical forms made of silicon. These squares, triangles and circles mostly presented over Maria’s head might also have symbolic meaning. Laca used both western and eastern types of representing a saint: the blue is the symbolic colour of Maria in western art, but the geometrical forms on the top of her head remind us of the saints seen in India. Besides these influences feLugossy’s own attributes are also on the pictures such as the silicon as a material and the neon spots, which are typical of his art these days.
