László feLugossy: It would be better, if it was more abstract. January 08, 2009 - February 07, 2009

The exhibition of the latest works of László feLugossy is to open on 8th January 2009 in Várfok Gallery’s Várfok Hall.

feLugossy László (1947, Kecskemét) has played an essential role in the Hungarian contemporary art world since the 70s. Apart from graphic arts, he has proved himself in several fields and genres of art: music, literature, film, painting and sculpture. He was member of the legendary underground band of the 80s called A.E. Bizottság (Comittee). He was also involved in the foundation of Vajda Lajos Studio in Szentendre. feLugossy mixes different fields of art and genres, but also different techniques, intellectual attitudes, cultures or sometimes contradictory artistic influences. Similar to his earlier artistic periods, titles and inscriptions play a crucial part in the general meaning of the art-works exhibited in January. The new sequence can be best described as a collage of groups of pictures or a dadaist concrete poem. The works, partly figurative, partly painted with swift brushstrokes, create an overall meaning with the words and expressions written on them.
