16th. February – 19th. February, 2017
Booth: E07 (Halle 2)

We are delighted to announce the Várfok Gallery’s participation at the art KARLSRUHE 2017 International Art Fair. The fair, held for the 14th time this year, hosts 211 exhibitors from eleven countries between the 16th and the 19th February 2017 in Karlsruhe.

The Várfok Gallery is presented in the second hall (Halle 2) MKH2/E07, occupying a 75 sqm stand where we exhibit the legendary 95-year-old Françoise Gilot in a One-Artist-Show on 25 sqm. The internationally acclaimed artist exhibited recently amongst other at the Gagosian Gallery in New York and in the Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz. Gilot was Picasso’s partner and muse for 10 years, yet she always maintained her own artistic voice. Her artworks are in the permanent collection of the most prestigious museums, such as the Metropolitan Museum in New York, the MOMA, or the Centre Pompidou in Paris. Her legendary figure aroused great interest last year at the art KARLSRUHE. This year the highlight of our stand is her extraordinary floating painting, the Phoenix Rising from 1985. Furthermore, Gilot’s other paintings, litographies, and her most recent paperworks are also on show.

In our Stand MKH2/E07 the Gallery exhibits important artists of its permanent artists’ circle. Among others there is franyo AATOTH and his hypnotic landscapes with red background; János SZIRTES, abstract painter and one of the most significant Hungarian performers; Endre ROZSDA and his caleidiscopic compositions; Tamás JOVANOVICS and Károly KESERÜ, whose works are ethereal and sort of repetitive; the Austrian Martin C. HERBST and his metallic balls; or Ádám HOLLÓS and Anna NEMES, the youngest members of the artists‘ circle.
