Last September we opened the exhibition of our legendary artist, Françoise Gilot titled the Endless Journey, for the occasion of the publication of her travel diaries from Venice, India and Senegal issued by the publisher TASCHEN. We were grateful to be informed about the acknowledged fashion designer’s, Duro Olowu’s 2020 spring/summer collection that was also inspired by these specific issues, about which you may read more in the recently published Vogue article.
The relationship between the legendary 97-year-old artist and the Várfok Gallery was established through Endre Rozsda, the Hungarian Surrealist painter and great friend of Gilot. Since 2000, the Várfok Gallery has organised many exhibitions dedicated to the unparalleled lifetime work of Gilot and is proud to be her only European gallery enjoying a personal relationship with her and, additionally, carrying the largest available collection of her works in Europe.
