In addition to the narrative paintings, Ujházi paints landscapes since the late 60s, from the beginning of his artistic career. His foliage paintings tell of the joyful experience of painting. The works’ permanent source of inspiration is Nadap, a small village in Fejér County. The local natural beauty continuously captivates the artist and motivates him to leave the small-town setting, and paint the beloved landscape again and again, recording its perpetual changes like a diary. The foliages wavering throughout the landscape and the brightly coloured flowers and leaves bursting from buds offer new artistic opportunities for the artist. This is the unique plein-air painting of Péter Ujházi.
