From the beginning of his artistic journey, Sándor Rácmolnár (b. 1960, Miskolc/H) has been most concerned with satirizing and consciously criticizing the visual clichés of popular culture. Always characterized by a confident creative voice, the artist regularly experiments with a wide range of media and various approaches, including the reinterpretation of folk culture, graffiti, advertisement and comic-like storytelling. The artwork presented was inspired by Rácmolnár’s nostalgic personal memories: constructed from his childhood toys, the artist redefines the meaning of playfulness, evoking the visual world of Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs.
