About the works

Tamás Jovanovics creates his abstract artworks and installations by blurring the boundaries between the different techniques of art. In his minimalist and at the same time illusionist works, he peculiarly interprets the two dimensions, and he analyses the spaces and the illusionistic effects of art. His endless, colourful lines drawn by colour pencil are followed one by the other in a strict order: whether the base of the surface is white or later black, whether the lines are getting thinner or ticker, or whether the lines are running parallel or they are broken. His composition based on a monotone repetition of the mathematized lines resulted in a pulsating, dynamic visual experience. Jovanovics exhibits in London, Milan and Wien on a regular basis, and the audience could also view his works in numerous metropolises, such as Berlin, Brussels, Moscow, New York or Rome.
