About the works

Károly Keserü was born in Budapest, and he emigrated to Australia in 1987. He attended his fine arts studies there, at the Swinburne University Melbourne, the Victorian College of the Art, and after winning the Samstag award in 2000, he acquired his master’s degree on the Saint Martins College of Arts in London. In his oeuvre the traits the geometric abstract art, Dadaism and John Cage’s influence can be found. Using the simplest visual elements, his works are dominated by the interactions of line webs and dots. The roots of these repetitive works lie in folk art and music. His works are present in numerous collections throughout Australia, the USA and Europe, and he is regularly exhibited at international art fairs.
